Sikh disappointment with the outcome of their demand for a partition was evident in their rising temper. Akali Dal asked Sikhs to conitnue struggling to keep Lahore, Lyallpur and Montgomery. Sikhs had a better chances of securing real gains in places where the demograpnic balance was more evenly poised.
